The Center for Imaging Science is administratively managed by FIU’s Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED).
The Director of the CIS, Dr. Angela Laird, is responsible for its scientific direction and administrative oversight. The MR Physicist and Director of Imaging Services, Dr. Robert Laird, is responsible for day-to-day technical operations, equipment maintenance, and safety management. In addition, Dr. Robert Laird supervises all CIS MR Technicians, including the Lead MR Technician. The CIS, including its Director, will report to the Associate Vice President for Research.
Review of all MR research projects and policy changes is carried out by the CIS Steering Committee.
Committee members serve for a term of three years and are appointed FIU’s Vice President of Research and Economic Development with the consultation of the Director.

Andrea Roman is the Lead MR Technician and is the contact for scheduling questions, safety screening questions, and requests for documentation for adding CIS MRI facility staff as Key Associates to IRB approved protocols. She can be reached via email (email@example.com) or phone (305-348-2089).
Christopher Grayson is the Director of the Office of Research Integrity and is the contact for all IRB-related questions. He can be reached via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (305-348-8379).
The above personnel have the authority to stop any scan procedure that is deemed unsafe for the volunteer or detrimental to the scanner.
